Sometimes it is just that simple…..

Sometimes it is just that difficult…..

I Believe.

The word that saves is right here,
as near as the tongue in your mouth,
as close as the heart in your chest.
It’s the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching. Say the welcoming word to God—”Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!” ~Romans 10:6-10 msg~

There are a lot of things to believe in. But,I believe in one above all else and that is my God has set everything right between him and me.

Sometimes I pray the prayer of unbelief when I don’t believe in all that He is capable of doing.  Out of despair and frustration and lack of control I cry out for more faith. It isn’t always easy to believe His will is better than my own. Sometimes I don’t hold back and ask him all the things you aren’t suppose to ask. I get angry about cancer and relationships that aren’t working and addiction. I don’t understand why children get lost in the system and why assumptions are easier than communication.

And then you know what happens…….His people, His Church, they are obedient and someone says a prayer that reminds me to believe. Then there is the gift of the psalms that sing of His beauty and remind me of what I believe, that I know, His ways are higher than my ways. God set things in motion when He sent Jesus to die for us. He sent His answer to cancer and relationships and lost children. He sent a power great enough to raise Jesus from the dead. He gave us something to believe.

Do you believe?
